Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) or Fair Trading Act 1986.

2. Products & Description

Virago Steel sells handmade jewellery, handbags, and accessories.

  • Many items are handmade or assembled, and minor imperfections may occur.
  • Some products (such as handbags and cutlery components) are made using secondhand or thrifted materials, which may show signs of previous use.
  • Other components (e.g. chains, clasps, hardware) are typically new.

We aim to accurately represent all items, but slight variations in colour, texture, or finish may occur.

  • Handbags are generally one-of-a-kind.
  • Jewellery may be reproduced where similar materials are available.

3. Pricing & Currency

  • All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
  • Virago Limited is not currently GST registered, so GST is not included.
  • Prices may change at any time without notice.

Prices are set to reflect materials, time, and sustainability of the business. While pricing may change, it will not be set in a deliberately exploitative manner.

4. Payments

We accept payments via:

  • Windcave (credit/debit card processing)
  • Afterpay

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • You are authorised to use the selected payment method
  • All information provided is accurate

Orders may be declined or cancelled if:

  • Payment cannot be processed
  • Fraud or unauthorised activity is suspected
  • There is an error in pricing or product listing

Afterpay

  • Afterpay is subject to its own terms and conditions
  • You must meet Afterpay’s eligibility requirements (typically 18+)

5. Orders & Cancellations

Virago Steel expects respectful and appropriate communication from customers.

We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or decline future sales to any customer who engages in:

  • Abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour
  • Harassment or inappropriate communication

Any such behaviour may result in immediate cancellation of current orders and refusal of future transactions.

Virago Steel reserves the right to:

  • Cancel any order at any time, for any reason. Whatever the reason, this will be communicated to the customer as soon as possible.

  • Correct errors in pricing or product descriptions

If an order is cancelled after payment, a full refund will be issued.

Bulk Orders

If an order contains unusually large quantities (e.g. multiple handbags), we reserve the right to:

  • Cancel and refund the order, and/or
  • Requote shipping costs before proceeding

6. Shipping, Delivery & Collection

  • Shipping is available within New Zealand only
  • Orders are processed within 2–3 business days
  • Shipping is fulfilled primarily via NZ Post

Delivery timeframes depend on the courier and selected shipping option.

  • Virago Steel is responsible for delays in order processing
  • The courier is responsible for delays during delivery

Once an order has been dispatched, risk passes to the customer.

Click & Collect

Click and collect options may be offered from time to time. Where available, details regarding collection location, timeframes, and requirements will be provided at checkout or via direct communication.

Virago Steel reserves the right to modify or withdraw click and collect options at any time.

7. Returns, Refunds & Repairs

Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA)

Under New Zealand law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product is faulty, not as described, or does not meet reasonable expectations.

Change of Mind

  • Returns are not accepted for change of mind

Faulty Items

If your item arrives faulty:

  • You must contact us within 7 days of delivery
  • We will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy

Return Shipping

  • This is particularly important for items such as rings and bracelets

We strongly recommend:

  • Using a soft tape measure to determine accurate sizing
  • Carefully following any sizing instructions provided on the product page

Due to the nature of sizing-dependent items:

  • Returns or exchanges will not be accepted for incorrect sizing (change of mind)
  • If a product is not faulty but does not fit, this does not qualify for a remedy under our returns policy
